This is one of a new series of paintings using sayings and idioms with a positive spin on them. A face looks up from the dark water with lily pads and a lily in the foreground. The meaning is that some of us aren’t always as we appear, that there is more to us than meets the eye. This piece has a sense of spooky eerie mystery.
